Winter!: Prepare for holiday gaming!
So a while back I started following this game created by Tom Francis of PC Gamer - Gunpoint. It's a stealth based 2d sidescrolly sort of platforming game where the entire goal is to punch every guard in the face hundreds of times. (And there's the bit about the story where you clear your mind, but that's a subplot really. The fun stuff happens when you start toying with simplistic guard AI.
The strong points are that it's sort of replayable when you unlock new tools or just get better at the game. As well as the level editor that lets you play other peoples levels!
On top of that, the guards are extremely predictable but in a good way. You know what you're getting with the guards which make them easy to avoid ,right? Wrong, they're usually in places where you could either avoid entirely or draw them away from. Or set up a chain reaction to make them knock themselves out with the door.
Or kick the door into them.
My only complaint is that Steam workshop isn't integrated into the custom level system, and it gets a bit repetitive if you can't figure out what to do and start testing theories.
Overall, for Francis' first released game, I give this game a 5/5 or 9/10.
